Simone Durham is a full-time Lecturer in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Morgan State University, where she previously earned bachelor's and master's degrees. She concurrently completes doctoral studies at University of Maryland, College Park, focusing on critical race scholarship and qualitative methodologies. Her research examines identity construction, social movements, and mental health within Black communities.

- Media representations of racial justice activism
Teaching encompasses undergraduate courses across sociology and anthropology, including Social Inequality, Race Relations, and Sociology of Sports. Professional service includes editorial work for Contexts Magazine and advocacy roles through UMD's Graduate Writing Center and Legal Aid Office.
Her forthcoming co-authored reference book Black Lives Matter (Bloomsbury, 2025) synthesizes movement analysis with millennial engagement patterns.
