Simona Storchi is an Associate Professor of Italian at the University of Leicester's School of Arts. She has held leadership roles including Deputy Head of the School of Arts (2016-19), Equalities Champion (2016-19), and Academic Director for the School of Modern Languages (2013-2016). She currently coordinates the Italian Section and previously managed Year Abroad and Admissions programs.
Her research focuses on Italian and European Modernism, avant-garde movements, and cultural dynamics of early 20th-century Italy, particularly under Fascism. She explores intersections between classicism and modernity, material legacies of Fascism, contemporary Italian literature, and spatial cultural constructs.
Her professional service includes extensive administrative leadership within language and arts departments, reflecting her commitment to both academic excellence and institutional equity.
