Simona Brunetti is an Associate Professor at the Department of Cultures and Civilizations, University of Verona. Her research focuses on Italian theatre direction, 19th-century Italian and French theatre, and Renaissance/Baroque performance traditions, with special attention to Commedia dell'Art and Gonzaga theatrical patronage (1480-1630).
She coordinates the Herla Project (since 2009), dedicated to Gonzaga theatrical documentation, and chairs the Scientific Committee of the Umberto Artioli Foundation. Her teaching includes courses on drama analysis, performance criticism, and theatrical iconography.
