Simon Walo is a Research Associate at the Sociological Institute, University of Zurich, affiliated with the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. He completed his doctorate at UZH, focusing on contested knowledge in the sociology of work, and holds MA/BA degrees in Social Sciences from the same institution.
His research examines:
- Structural labor market changes through automation and occupational shifts
- Cultural sociology via the INVENT Project analyzing European cultural values
- Digital transformation impacts through UZH's Digital Society Initiative
- Quantitative analysis of ideological change and job polarization
