Simon Sundström

Simon Sundström is an Associate Professor at the Department of Special Education, University of Oslo. His research focuses on language, cognition, and communication in children with hearing loss, intervention methods for language disorders, and the role of phonological abilities in language development. He holds a PhD in Medical Science (Speech and Language Pathology) from Linköping University, Sweden, and is a licensed speech therapist.

Research Interests: Investigates multilingual children’s communication needs, phonological and prosodic influences on language, and educational outcomes for children with language disorders. Active in developing intervention strategies for speech and language impairments.

Teaching Responsibilities: Courses include SPED4100 (Audiopedagogy), SPED3001/3003 (Learning Disabilities), and Master's thesis supervision in audio pedagogy/speech therapy.

Labs/Teams: Leads the Communicative Processes (ComPros) research group, focusing on communicative development and disorders.
