Simon Roberts is a Research Fellow at the University of Bath's Department for Health, specializing in injury epidemiology and prevention in rugby union. He joined the university in 2000 as an exercise physiology laboratory technician, completing a part-time PhD between 2003-2008 before transitioning to his current role. His work focuses on understanding injury incidence, severity, and prevention strategies in community and university rugby, particularly for men's and women's players.

Research Interests: Injury epidemiology in rugby, prevention strategies, video analysis of injuries, and interventions to enhance performance/recovery. Key areas include tackling techniques, match simulation protocols, and nutritional impacts on rugby performance.
Projects & Funding: Co-led the Community Rugby Injury Surveillance Project (2017–2025, funded by the Rugby Football Union). PI of projects like 'Physical demands of rugby union referees' (2017–2020) and 'RFU-Activate injury prevention program' (2017–present).
