Simon Peck is Associate Professor of Design & Innovation at the Weatherhead School of Management, Case Western Reserve University, where he also serves as Faculty Director of the EMBA program and Senior Associate Dean. Since his initial appointment in 2003, he has focused on research and teaching at the intersection of corporate governance, strategic management, and executive compensation.

Research Interests
Peck’s scholarship centers on the critical links between corporate governance mechanisms and organizational performance. His work dissects how board composition, executive compensation contracts, and strategic planning processes influence a firm’s competitive advantage. He has investigated the nuanced roles of compensation consultants, the impact of CEO career breadth on pay, and the antecedents of effective boardroom decision-making.
Across more than two decades of publications, Peck’s research spans multiple governance contexts—including the United States, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and broader Europe—yielding insights into how institutional and cultural factors shape pay practices and strategic oversight.

Teaching & Program Leadership
Peck teaches strategic management and corporate governance across graduate programs, including the Executive MBA. His courses—Corporate Governance and Dialogues in Healthcare, Strategic Issues and Applications, and Taking Care of Business: Corporate Governance and the Chief Executive Officer—integrate theory with real-world governance challenges. As Faculty Director of the EMBA, he oversees curriculum design and executive engagement.
