Simon Pattison

Simon Pattison is a Senior Lecturer and Course Lead for Product Design at York St John University's School of the Arts. With a BA (Hons) in Design from Staffordshire University and two MAs in Ceramic Design for Production and Jewellery, Silversmithing and Related Products (with distinction) from Birmingham City University, he brings extensive industry experience to his academic role.

His professional background includes shape design leadership at Denby Pottery and freelance collaborations with major ceramics firms like Spode, Portmeirion, Royal Worcester and Wedgwood. Recognized for his MA final show 'The Importance of Being Elegant,' he was featured as an MA star on the Axis website and maintains membership with The Goldsmiths' Company.

As an active design practitioner, he creates bold and playful domestic objects while working with prestigious clients including the Royal family, Paul Smith and WMF. His practice explores innovative tabletop concepts and unexpectedly functional home items, with exhibition experience at Masion Objet (Paris), Tent London and Goldsmiths' Fair.
