Dr Simon O'Meara is a Research Associate in Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Manchester. His research focuses on atmospheric aerosol modelling, particularly volatility estimation, diffusion in particles, and environmental impacts of aerosols using the PyCHAM model. He holds a BSc in Environmental Science (University of East Anglia) and an MRes in Physics of the Earth and Atmosphere (University of Leeds).
Key research interests include indoor/outdoor aerosol dynamics, pesticide volatility, and air quality. His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals on climate action and clean energy.
Recent publications highlight advancements in pesticide volatility analysis, indoor air pollution studies, and aerosol process simulation techniques. He received the Engaging Presenter Award (2024) and actively participates in conferences and peer review.
