Simon Furletti is a Senior Lecturer in Experiential Development and Graduate Education at Monash University. His work focuses on enhancing clinical assessment methods, curriculum design, and student readiness in health professions education. He has led or contributed to projects evaluating Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs) against real-world performance, curriculum transformations, and pandemic-era experiential learning.
Key research interests include linking assessments to authentic practice, preceptor feedback mechanisms, and improving work-integrated learning outcomes for pharmacy, occupational therapy, and social work students. His 2021 Excellence in Education Award recognized contributions to student learning programs.
Recent research explores how mystery shopping techniques validate OSCE effectiveness and pandemic adaptations in experiential education. Furletti collaborates widely across disciplines to inform curricula that bridge clinical training gaps.
