Simon Dorman serves as Senior Lecturer in the School of Psychology at the University of Roehampton since 2002 and concurrently holds the position of Head of Froebel College since 2009. He additionally contributes as Associate Lecturer for Open University's DSE212 Exploring Psychology module and Residential Tutor for DD303 Cognitive Psychology since 2003 and 1999 respectively.
His academic qualifications include a BSc and MSc.
Dr. Dorman's research centers on individual differences and their influence on metacognitive processes during problem-solving strategy evaluation. He extensively investigates computer-aided learning dynamics, examining factors affecting educational outcomes and user navigation patterns within multimedia environments and internet-based systems. His work bridges cognitive psychology with digital learning methodologies.
He secured internal research funding (2003-2004) from Roehampton's School of Psychology and Therapeutic Studies for the project 'The effects of learner control on learning performance and attitudes in a computer-based instructional environment.' In teaching, he convenes Year 1 modules 'Psychology in Practice' and 'Mind, Body and Brain 1,' while delivering 'Research Methods 1' and 'Mind, Body and Brain 2' for Year 2 students.
