Dr. Simon Chu is an Adjunct Associate Professor (Research) at the Hudson Institute's Centre for Endocrinology and Metabolism. He completed his PhD at Prince Henry's Institute (PHI) in 2005, focusing on estrogen receptor roles in ovarian tumors. His research investigates therapeutic strategies for ovarian cancers, particularly granulosa cell tumors, using dual biological pathway targeting. He holds the OCRF L’Oreal Paris Australia Research Fellowship.
Education: PhD in Molecular Biology from Prince Henry’s Institute (2005).
Research Interests: Ovarian cancer biomarkers, steroid receptor biology, therapeutic drug discovery, and rare cancer treatment strategies. His work aligns with UN SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being).
Recent Projects: Leading projects like 'Advancing Ovarian Granulosa Cell Tumor Treatment' (2025-2028) and collaborative grants such as NHMRC Equipment Grants. He has also contributed to precision oncology initiatives targeting ovarian cancer patients.
