Simon Beddoe is a Senior Lecturer in Professional Studies at Leeds Conservatoire, specializing in live music management and coordinating the live music management module. He is an accomplished trumpet/flugelhorn player and composer, internationally recognized for his work with Submotion Orchestra and other groups. Simon holds a jazz studies background from Leeds Conservatoire and has extensive experience in event organization, tour management, and theatre productions.

Simon’s career includes roles as events manager at The Wardrobe, promoter rep for Soundcrash and AGMP, and production manager for festivals like The Funk and Soul Weekender. He co-founded Leeds Improvised Music Association to support local music communities.
Notable collaborations include Submotion Orchestra (over 10 years), Incognito, and The West Yorkshire Playhouse. He has produced sample libraries for Samplephonics and Loopmasters, emphasizing live brass textures. Simon’s discography highlights include albums like Colour Theory (2016) and 2 Hands Up (2020), showcasing his versatility as a performer and arranger.
