Simon Arnold Lewin

Simon Lewin is Professor of Health Management and Health Systems at NTNU. With 25+ years in health policy research, he focuses on strengthening health systems through evidence-based decision-making.

He co-developed the GRADE-CERQual approach for assessing qualitative evidence in systematic reviews. Lewin coordinates Cochrane Effective Practice and Organisation of Care (EPOC), enhancing methods for health systems guidance.

His research examines digital tracking systems, mobile health applications, and care coordination for vulnerable populations. Current projects evaluate interventions to improve critical health literacy among adolescents in East Africa.

Lewin maintains affiliations with the Norwegian Institute of Public Health and South African Medical Research Council, advising WHO committees on guideline development.
