Siming Zhao is an Assistant Professor of Biomedical Data Science at Dartmouth College's Geisel School of Medicine. She specializes in computational methods for analyzing genomic data to study genetic causes of diseases, particularly cancer. Her lab develops tools to model mutation selection, integrate multi-omics datasets, and identify disease genes. Zhao holds a PhD from Yale University and completed postdoctoral training at the University of Chicago.
Education: B.S., Tsinghua University (2010); Ph.D., Yale University (2015). Research focuses on cancer genomics, with projects including noncoding mutation analysis, genetic background impacts on cancer phenotypes, and causal gene identification in genome-wide studies. Her work combines statistical genetics, bioinformatics, and cancer biology.
Selected publications highlight contributions to transcriptome-wide association studies, uterine cancer mutational landscapes, and targeted therapy combinations. She collaborates with the Dartmouth Cancer Center and Quantitative Biomedical Sciences program. Zhao's lab actively explores translating large-scale genomic data into actionable biological insights.
