Dr. Simas Čelutka is a researcher at Vilnius University's Institute of International Relations and Political Science (VU TSPMI), specializing in modern and contemporary political philosophy, ethics, and the history of ideas. He teaches courses such as Foundations of Practical Philosophy, Citizenship and Democracy, and Politics and Morality, emphasizing the interplay between theory and practice in political discourse.

His research focuses on political phenomenology, moral foundations of politics, and the works of Hannah Arendt and Jan Patočka. His recent projects include postdoctoral research on the phenomenology of sacrifice and studies of political sedimentation. He co-authored the monograph Politics and Morality: An Ontological Perspective (2022) and has published in journals like The European Legacy and Journal of the British Society for Phenomenology.
His academic output explores themes such as sacrifice in political theory, the intersection of art and politics, and the ontological grounding of ethical frameworks. He has organized conferences and contributed to civic education programs for schoolteachers.
