Silvia Moscatelli is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology 'Renzo Canestrari' at the University of Bologna. She has held this position since 2014 and serves as Director of the First Cycle Degree in Psychological Sciences and Techniques. Her research focuses on gender dynamics in the workplace, collective action for gender equality, sexualization and abuse, morality in interpersonal relations, linguistic discrimination, and psychosocial factors in medically assisted procreation.
She earned a PhD in Social, Developmental, and Organizational Psychology from the University of Bologna in 2004, followed by visiting scholar appointments at institutions such as the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study and the University of Kent. Her academic career includes roles as a Lecturer (2006–2014) and research fellowships on topics like family relationships and intergroup discrimination.
Dr. Moscatelli has received notable awards, including the Italian Association of Psychology's 2004 Best Dissertation Award and coordinated a €218,642 FIRB grant on morality in social relationships. She teaches courses on group psychology, social morality, and research methods, and actively supervises students and international exchange programs.
Her institutional roles include membership on the Department Giunta, PhD program committees, and ethics boards. Research collaborations span intergroup relations, migration psychology, and pandemic responses, with publications emphasizing cultural variability, discrimination, and social justice.
