Silvia Gherardi is a Professor of Sociology of Work and Organization at the University of Trento, Italy. She served as the first female Chair of EGOS (1997-2000) and became an EGOS Honorary Member in 2008. Her research focuses on organizational cultures, gender studies, qualitative methodology, and symbolism in organizational practices. Gherardi pioneered the 'replacement method' for studying occupational communities and has authored over 150 scholarly works.
