معرفی
Prof. Dr. Sigrun Reumann is a full Professor at the University of Hamburg, where she serves as Managing Director of the Research Unit Plant Biochemistry and Infection Biology within the Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics, Computer Science and Natural Sciences. Her research focuses on plant peroxisomes, protein targeting mechanisms, and their roles in stress response and metabolic pathways.
Education and Career
- Habilitation in Biochemistry, University of Göttingen (2007)
- Doctorate, University of Göttingen (1996-1999)
- Postdoctoral Fellow, University of Michigan (1996-1999)
Research Interests
Sigrun Reumann’s work bridges biochemistry and computational biology. She investigates peroxisomal targeting signals (PTS1/PTS2), organelle proteomics, vitamin K1 biosynthesis, and cross-talk between peroxisomes, mitochondria, and chloroplasts during photorespiration. Her team also explores autophagy in plant cells and stress-induced metabolic adaptations.
Publication Trends
Her recent articles (2010-2015) emphasize PredPlantPTS1 bioinformatics tools, novel peroxisomal signal discovery, and proteomic analysis of Arabidopsis and spinach leaf peroxisomes. Studies integrate machine learning with experimental validation to map organelle function and metabolic pathways.
Leadership
She leads the Research Unit Plant Biochemistry and Infection Biology and has held academic positions at the University of Stavanger (2008-2014) and University of Göttingen (2001-2006).
