Sierra A. Bainter is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychological Sciences at the University of Miami, within the College of Arts and Sciences. Her research focuses on cognitive behavioral stress management (CBSM) interventions for cancer patients, particularly older women with nonmetastatic breast cancer. She co-authored a 2023 study examining predictors of engagement with asynchronous CBSM websites, highlighting the role of disease stage, race, ethnicity, and intervention timing. Dr. Bainter’s work integrates digital health strategies to enhance psychosocial care in oncology settings.
Her research is supported by grants from the Florida Department of Health and the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.
