Siddharth Bhandari is an Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder. He also serves as the Associate Director of Research at the Construction Safety Research Alliance. Bhandari holds BS, MS, and PhD degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder, demonstrating a strong academic foundation in engineering disciplines. His research focuses on construction safety, experimental psychology, human factors engineering, and workplace mental well-being, with a particular interest in applying innovative technologies like virtual reality and augmented reality to enhance safety training and hazard detection.
He has received notable awards including the National Safety Council’s Rising Stars of Safety Award (2021), ELECTRI International’s Early Career Award (2019), and a Best Paper Award at the 2015 International Construction Specialty Conference. His work emphasizes cross-disciplinary approaches, integrating psychological principles with engineering solutions to address complex safety challenges in construction environments. Bhandari’s research also explores organizational learning systems, incident investigation methodologies, and the impact of mental wellness interventions on worker performance.
His recent publications (2023–2025) highlight advancements in VR/AR applications for safety skill development, bias mitigation in incident investigations, and predictive modeling of severe injuries using machine learning. These contributions underscore his commitment to bridging theoretical frameworks with practical industry solutions to improve worker safety and organizational resilience.
