Dr. Sian Stephens is a Senior Lecturer at Middlesex University's Faculty of Business and Law, affiliated with the Department of Strategy, Leadership & Operations. Her research examines interactions between industry operations and host communities, with a focus on energy sectors like onshore wind and waste-to-energy facilities. She teaches business ethics, cross-cultural management, and research methods across postgraduate and undergraduate programs.
Her research interests include:
- Corporate-community relations in extractive industries
- Social license to operate frameworks
- Ethics of care in organizational contexts
- Gender dynamics in tourism and travel
- Low-carbon transition strategies
Publications predominantly explore energy governance, corporate social responsibility, and ethical dimensions of tourism, featuring comparative case studies across Europe and South Africa. Trends include sustainability metrics, stakeholder engagement models, and feminist critiques of travel narratives.
