Stephen Pavelin is a Professor and Deputy Dean at the University of Bath, affiliated with the Management Centre for Business, Organisations and Society (CBOS) within the Department of Marketing, Business & Society. His research focuses on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), particularly the relationship between firms’ social performance and their corporate reputation and financial performance. He serves on the editorial board of Business and Society and has published in leading journals such as Journal of Management Studies and Journal of Business Ethics.
Key projects include the Dimos BEIS UKRI Policy Fellowship (2023–2025) and a KTP collaboration with Waitrose Ltd (2013–2015). His work contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, emphasizing sustainability and ethical business practices. Pavelin has advised on corporate governance, board diversity, and environmental risk management, with a focus on multinational corporations and institutional norms.
Research trends in his articles highlight themes like CSR’s protective value against reputational risk, geographical diversification strategies, and transnational environmental policies. His work bridges strategic management, finance, and ethics to understand how social performance impacts firm success.
Pavelin has supervised four students and secured grants from UK Research & Innovation and Innovate UK. His contributions extend to policy advising and industry partnerships, emphasizing practical applications of CSR research.
