Sian Green

Sian Green is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Agroecology, Water and Resilience. Her work focuses on ecology and conservation, particularly using camera trapping and citizen science to enhance wildlife monitoring and public engagement. She holds a BSc in Zoology from the University of Reading, an M.Res. from the University of Southampton, and a PhD on mammal monitoring with MammalWeb.

Her research interests include camera trapping techniques, citizen science methodologies, and the connection between humans and nature. She has contributed to projects like MammalWeb and has published on topics ranging from wildlife corridors in Kenya to the integration of AI in conservation.

Green is involved in interdisciplinary projects such as OneBiosecurity and DAISY, funded by the European Commission, addressing biosecurity and biodiversity through technological and social innovations. She emphasizes leveraging camera traps to bridge gaps between wildlife conservation and public awareness.
