Helen Bayliss is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Agroecology, Water and Resilience, working part-time on two European Commission-funded projects: OneSTOP (Biosecurity Systems) and DAISY (Biodiversity Equity Innovation). She holds a PhD in environmental biology and information management from Harper Adams University College, with prior roles at Imperial College London and Bangor University focusing on invasive species and climate change impacts. Her research interests span biological invasions, conservation technology, and citizen science, emphasizing policy-relevant outcomes. She actively engages in open science and fieldwork, testing non-invasive monitoring technologies like camera traps and bioacoustics.
Key contributions include the Alien Futures Horizon Scanning dataset and collaborative work on invasive species' public health implications. Her publications address ecological syntheses, biosecurity behavior, and evidence-based conservation strategies. Outside academia, she volunteers with local wildlife groups and promotes community-led conservation efforts.
