Sian Evans

Sian Evans is a Lecturer in the School of Literature, Drama and Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia (UEA). She is a member of the Creative Writing Research Group and is based in the Arts and Humanities Building. Her work spans creative practice and academic engagement, with a strong focus on drama, writing, and performance.

Her research interests lie at the intersection of creative writing and performance, particularly in playwriting, screenwriting, and libretto composition. She has authored numerous plays published by Faber and Faber and Parthian Press, produced at major UK venues including the National Theatre, Sheffield Crucible, and Liverpool Playhouse. Her work extends to television, radio, and opera, with original dramas for BBC, ITV, and TF1, and libretti for the Scottish Opera Company NOISE.

Her recent creative outputs include performances such as Navigate the Blood (2018) and Hirda (2016–2017), reflecting a practice-based research approach.
