James Robert Carson is Associate Professor in the School of Literature, Drama and Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia (UEA). He is a member of the Creative Writing Research Group Steering Committee and part of the CreativeUEA network. He is currently accepting PhD students and is actively engaged in creative research through performance.
Carson's research is practice-led, focusing on the creation and direction of new opera and experimental theatre. His work emphasizes community engagement, Scottish cultural identity, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
