Siân Slade is an Enterprise Fellow (Honorary) at the University of Melbourne and a PhD candidate in global health systems. Her work focuses on mechanisms enabling patients to navigate healthcare systems, with collaborations spanning Australia, Wales, and beyond. She holds qualifications in pharmacy, public health (MPH), business administration (MBA), and governance (GAICD).
- Education: UK-trained pharmacist, MPH, MBA, GAICD, PhD candidate (University of Melbourne/Swansea University).
Research interests include patient navigation mechanisms, healthcare access, and social prescribing. Her PhD research, conducted with Professors Barbara McPake and Peter Brooks, explores patient navigation in Australia and Wales through partnerships with health services and universities.
She chairs the #NavigatingHealth social impact project and co-chairs the International Social Prescribing Collaborative. She serves on boards including the Leukaemia Foundation and LiverWELL, and previously led the Precision Health Community of Practice at the Australasian Institute of Digital Health.
Slade’s work bridges health, social, and voluntary sectors through initiatives like global webinars and collaborations with organizations such as the American Cancer Society.
