Shyam V Patel is a Professor in the Department of English at George Mason University, affiliated with the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. His research focuses on 19th-century British literature and culture, particularly the fin de siècle period, as well as pedagogical approaches to hybrid and online writing instruction. He holds a Ph.D. in English Literature from the University of California, Irvine, and a B.A. in English from the University of Virginia.
