معرفی
Shun'ichi Kuroda is a Professor at the Department of Biomolecular Science and Reaction, part of Osaka University. With a Ph.D. in Agriculture from Kyoto University (1992), he has held various academic positions, including Director of Osaka University's SANKEN institute since April 2024. His research focuses on elucidating biomolecular structures and interactions, particularly in olfaction and enzymatic mechanisms.
Research Interests include:
- Decoding olfactory receptor repertoires using single-cell analysis techniques
- Structural characterization of copper amine oxidase (AGAO) and quinohemoprotein amine dehydrogenase (QHNDH) to understand cofactor biogenesis
- Developing novel antibiotics targeting two-component regulatory systems (TCS) in multidrug-resistant bacteria
- Applying neutron/X-ray crystallography and X-ray free electron laser for protein structure analysis
Research Trends show specialization in structural biology of olfactory receptors (2016-2023), enzymatic reaction mechanisms (2002-2015), and antibiotic development (2008-2017). His work bridges protein structure analysis with bio-industrial applications.
Lab Information: Located at Osaka University's SANKEN institute (Building for Nanotechnology, 2F/3F). The lab has 5 faculty, 1 secretary, 3 doctoral students, and 1 master's student. They focus on creating comfortable research environments and maintain equipment for structural analysis.
