معرفی
Shudong Jiang is a Professor of Engineering at Dartmouth College's Thayer School of Engineering. His expertise lies in optical spectroscopy and imaging systems for biomedical applications, particularly in cancer imaging. He holds an OSA Senior Member distinction and has received NIH grants for research on breast tumor response to chemotherapy and near-infrared imaging techniques.
Education:
- BS in Automatic Control System, University of Xian Institute of Technology (China)
- MS in Optoelectronics, Fukui University (Japan)
- PhD in Optoelectronics, Tokyo Institute of Technology (Japan)
Research Interests: Professor Jiang focuses on advancing optical imaging technologies for medical diagnostics, including Cerenkov imaging in radiation therapy, optical molecular imaging, and near-infrared imaging. His work integrates magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with optical techniques to improve breast cancer detection and monitoring. Recent studies emphasize predicting treatment efficacy through non-invasive spectroscopic methods.
Awards & Grants:
- Optical Society of America (OSA) Senior Member
- NIH/NCI R21 Grant (2009-2011): NIR Hypoxia Imaging of Breast Tumor Response to Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy
- NIH/NCI Mentored Research Career Development Award (2005-2009): Dynamic Pressure-Enhanced NIR Breast Imaging
Labs & Innovations: His Optics in Medicine Lab develops cutting-edge imaging systems, including a fiber optic array for breast cancer imaging at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. Notable patents include pulsed laser systems for diffuse optical tomography and tomographic image reconstruction methods.
