Dr Shuangfa Huang is a Lecturer in Entrepreneurship at the Sheffield University Management School. Previously, he served as Senior Lecturer in Entrepreneurship and Innovation and PhD Director for Business and Management at the University of Portsmouth. With a decade of industry experience in manufacturing and new product development, his research focuses on entrepreneurship, innovation, and sustainability in SMEs and start-ups, employing fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA). He holds a PhD and MSc and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Research Interests: Dr Huang explores causal complexity in entrepreneurship through fsQCA, examining factors influencing SME growth, innovation strategies, founding team dynamics, and sustainability practices. His work bridges theoretical frameworks with practical insights from start-ups and established firms.
Teaching: He teaches New Venture Creation (Undergraduate) and Cultural and Creative Entrepreneurship (Postgraduate), emphasizing experiential and active learning. His pedagogy prioritizes student engagement, partnership, and reflection-based learning.
PhD Supervision: He supervises research in entrepreneurship, innovation, and sustainability. Current advisee: Fajrin Muttaqin (Social Enterprise Failure).
Labs/Teams: Part of the Entrepreneurship, Strategy and International Business (ES&IB) group at the Management School.
