Dr. Shuai Wei is a Lecturer at the University of Liverpool's School of Law and Social Justice (since 2023) and a member of its Criminology Department. His research focuses on gender, law, and crime with an international perspective, particularly in China, along with sociology of sexuality and research methodology. He previously taught at the Department of Sociology, University of Hong Kong, and held fellowships at the University of Hong Kong and University of Michigan. He earned a Ph.D. in Gender Studies from the University of Cambridge and a Doctor of Juridical Science from City University of Hong Kong.

Active in global criminology organizations, including the Association of Chinese Criminology and the American Society of Criminology's Feminist Criminology Division.
