Prof. Show Pau Loke is a Full Professor in the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi, UAE, and concurrently a Professor of Biochemical Engineering at the University of Nottingham Malaysia. He directs the Sustainable Food Processing Research Centre and co-directs Future Food Malaysia, Beacon of Excellence. A former President and Founder of the International Bioprocessing Society, he holds a PhD in Bioprocess Engineering from Universiti Putra Malaysia and a Post Graduate Certificate of Higher Education (PGCHE) from 2014.
- Professional Qualifications: Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), Chartered Engineer (CEng), Professional Engineer (PEng), and Professional Technologist (PTech).
- Research Focus: Microalgae biorefinery, upstream-downstream bioprocessing, sustainable food and energy solutions, and bioseparation technologies.
His research explores multiphase extraction systems for microalgae-derived compounds, aiming to enhance economic feasibility through green bioprocessing. He has led over 35 projects with >5.0 million USD funding, published 750+ papers (38,000+ citations, h-index 95), and graduated 45+ PhD/MSc students. As an Editor-in-Chief and Associate Editor for journals like Current Nutrition & Food Science and Environmental Science and Ecotechnology, he contributes to peer review and academic leadership.
- Scientific Awards: Fellow of IChemE, Highly Cited Researcher (2022), Top 100 Asian Scientists (2017), and multiple international fellowships.
