Shobha Sahney

Dr. Shobha Sahney is an Associate Professor in the Pediatric Nephrology Division of the School of Medicine at Loma Linda University. With a medical degree (MBBS) from Lady Hardinge Medical College (1969), she has dedicated her career to advancing pediatric nephrology through clinical practice and research.

Dr. Sahney's research primarily focuses on:

• Pediatric kidney transplantation and immunosuppression
• Dialysis techniques for children, including citrate-based hemodialysis
• Glomerular filtration rate assessment in special pediatric populations
• Management of renal disease in children

With 32 research publications spanning from 1993 to 2021, Dr. Sahney has made significant contributions to the field of pediatric nephrology. Her recent work includes studies on acute rejection in pediatric kidney transplantation (2021), core outcome domains in pediatric kidney disease (2020), and inpatient citrate-based hemodialysis in pediatric patients (2016). Her research often involves multi-center collaborations, particularly through the North American Pediatric Renal Trials and Collaborative Studies (NAPRTCS).

Dr. Sahney has served as Principal Investigator for numerous research projects including:
