Shiv Darius Tandon, PhD, is a Professor in the Department of Medical Social Sciences at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. He serves as Director of the Institute for Public Health and Medicine (IPHAM) - Center for Community Health and Chief of Intervention Science, focusing on mental health interventions for vulnerable populations, particularly perinatal women.

Research Interests: Dr. Tandon's work centers on preventing mental disorders and promoting well-being through evidence-based interventions. His Mothers and Babies (MB) program is recognized by the US Preventive Services Task Force as a top intervention for preventing perinatal depression. Current research examines MB's impact on parenting and child outcomes, tests online (eMB) and virtual group delivery, and adapts MB for sexual and gender minorities, tribal communities, and Arabic-speaking populations. He also developed the Fathers and Babies intervention and specializes in community-engaged research methodology.

Leadership, Grants, and Labs: As Director of Northwestern's Center for Community Health, Dr. Tandon oversees patient-stakeholder engagement in clinical research. His lab conducts implementation science for mental health interventions funded by HRSA and PCORI. Former Editor-in-Chief of Progress in Community Health Partnerships (2012-2019) and co-chair of PCORI's Patient Engagement Advisory Panel (2013-2018), he leads national initiatives including the Home Visiting Maternal Depression Collaborative and serves on the American Heart Association and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation committees.
