Dr Jill Domoney is a Researcher in the Section of Women’s Mental Health at King’s College London’s Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience. Her work focuses on perinatal mental health, violence impact on development, and maternal health service innovations. She leads projects like the RIVA study exploring Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) integration into maternity services. Her research includes developing interventions for antenatal depression and evaluating violence-related mental health interventions in domestic violence and sexual assault contexts.
Research Interests: Perinatal mental health, infant mental health, violence-trauma relationships, domestic violence intervention design, and healthcare responses to sexual assault. She uses mixed-methods approaches, combining quantitative trials (e.g., DAWN trial for antenatal depression) with qualitative studies analyzing service gaps and survivor experiences.
Teaching: Teaches undergraduate courses on parent-infant interaction in perinatal mental health, video-feedback interventions, and perinatal intervention development. Her educational focus aligns with clinical research priorities in maternal and child well-being.
Key Projects: MiMoS Study evaluating sexual assault referral centers, RIVA IDVA maternity service integration, and intergenerational violence prevention programs. Collaborates internationally on paternal perinatal depression interventions and UK-wide domestic violence policy initiatives.
