Lavinia Rebecchini is a Researcher at King's College London, working within the Perinatal Psychiatry Section of the SPI Lab. Her PhD research focuses on the 'Melodies for Mums with Postnatal Depression (M4M)' project under the SHAPER initiative, the world's largest study on arts interventions for mental health. Her work evaluates music and singing interventions to improve maternal mentalization and mental health in mothers with postnatal depression and their infants up to 9 months old.
Her research interests include postnatal depression interventions, mother-infant interaction dynamics, and the scalability of arts-based therapies. She contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to mental health and well-being.
Her recent publications explore the feasibility and efficacy of online singing interventions for postnatal depression, demonstrating reductions in depression, anxiety, and stress symptoms. She has also investigated how antenatal depression impacts maternal mentalization during infant interactions.
Collaborations involve multidisciplinary teams across King's College London and UCL, focusing on clinical trials, implementation science, and cost-effectiveness analyses of health-arts programs.
