Shirshendu Chatterjee

Shirshendu Chatterjee is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the City College and Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY). His academic journey includes a B.Stat and M.Stat from the Indian Statistical Institute, followed by MS and PhD degrees in Operations Research & Information Engineering from Cornell University. He previously served as a Courant Instructor at NYU's Math Department.

Research Interests:

• Statistics and Data Science: Developing algorithms, inference methods, and frameworks for complex data types (network, high-dimensional, time-series).
• Applied and Theoretical Probability: Modeling biological/social phenomena, stochastic spatial models, percolation, random graphs.
• Interdisciplinary Research: Collaborative frameworks with scientists in biosciences, social sciences, computer science, and physical sciences.
