Dr Shirley Geyi Xu is a Lecturer in Accounting at Keele Business School, Keele University, since August 2017. Previously, she served as a Lecturer at the University of Wollongong, Australia, where she completed her Master of Professional Accounting (MPA), Master of Accountancy in Research, and PhD. Her academic background is complemented by extensive industrial experience in international business and telecom sectors.
Her teaching expertise spans assurance and auditing, social/environmental accounting, accounting information systems, and management accounting. She currently leads Keele Business School's implementation of the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) initiative. Dr Xu's research focuses on sustainability governance, corporate labor rights, and the evolving roles of auditors in environmental and energy sectors.
Her scholarly work includes studies on corporate sustainability governance impacts and classifications of greenhouse/energy auditors. She received a Teaching and Learning Grant (2013) at the University of Wollongong for fostering stakeholder engagement in education. She is a member of CPA Australia.
