Shirley Evans is a Senior Lecturer and Director of the Association for Dementia Studies at the University of Worcester's School of Health and Wellbeing. She leads strategic research, knowledge exchange, and implementation of community-based dementia interventions across local, regional, national, and international scales. Her work combines nearly 30 years of systems thinking expertise with policy shaping and leadership of initiatives like the Meeting Centres UK network.
- Education: PhD in E-Learning and Blindness (University of Birmingham, 2009), MEd in Equality and Diversity (Open University, 2002), PGCE (University of Worcester, 1997), BSc in Information Technology (Open University, 1997)
She plays a central role in driving dementia support programs in Herefordshire and Worcestershire, including Dementia Matters and the Leominster Meeting Centre, while serving as Deputy Chair of the Integrated Care System Dementia Programme Board. Shirley also has extensive teaching and consultancy experience in ICT and inclusive educational practices.
