Dr. Shireen Afshan is a Researcher in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College London, affiliated with the Metal Forming and Materials Modelling research group. Her work focuses on Multiscale Modelling for Next Generation Steels, particularly investigating damage recovery and diffusion bonding of steels under thermomechanical conditions. She holds a BEng in Aerospace Engineering.

She contributes to a 6 PhD Studentships initiative on Mechanics and Characterisation of Next Generation EAF Recycled Steels for Forming and Welding Applications. Collaborative contacts include Professors Liliang Wang, Jianguo Lin, Daniel Balint, and Drs. Jun Jiang and Zhusheng Shi.
