Dr. Shijie Qi is an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at Université de Montréal's Faculty of Medicine. He holds affiliations with the Centre de recherche du Centre hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal (CRCHUM) and the Shire Chair in Nephrology, Transplantation, and Renal Regeneration. His research focuses on experimental microsurgery, organ transplantation mechanisms, immunosuppressant evaluation, and ischemia/reperfusion injury prevention. Dr. Qi has pioneered animal models for organ transplantation in rodents, pigs, canines, and non-human primates, including Canada's first facial transplantation in rodents.
