Shian Wang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), part of the College of Engineering. His research focuses on systems and control theory, traffic flow analysis, and transportation cyber-physical systems, with applications to intelligent vehicles, smart cities, and resilient infrastructure. He is a recipient of multiple prestigious awards, including the 2023 IEEE ITS Best Dissertation Award and the 2025 UTEP Research Institute Award.
Dr. Wang holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Minnesota (2022), an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Ottawa (2018), and a B.E. in Automation from Chang'an University (2016). His academic journey includes advising roles and interdisciplinary collaborations in smart transportation systems.
