Sheryl Chow, PharmD, FCCP, FAHA, FHFSA, BCPS AQ-Cardiology is an Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice and Administration at the College of Pharmacy, Western University of Health Sciences. She has been affiliated with the institution since 2004. Her education includes a B.S. in Pharmacy from the University of Connecticut (1998) and a Pharm.D. from the State University of New York at Buffalo (2000), followed by a Pharmacy Practice Residency at Buffalo General Hospital (2000-2001).
Dr. Chow’s research interests focus on acute care cardiology, particularly heart failure management, pharmacotherapy optimization, and biomarker utilization. She holds advanced credentials including Fellowships from the Heart Failure Society of America (2016), American Heart Association (2012), and American College of Clinical Pharmacy (2011), along with Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy (2003) and Advanced Qualifications in Cardiology (2008).
Her professional experience includes media engagements such as interviews with TCTMD, Medscape, and PBS, where she discussed topics like heart failure comorbidities and cardiovascular drug costs. Research collaborations involve the Division of Cardiology at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center and clinical rotations at Riverside Community Hospital. Teaching focuses on acute cardiovascular care and evidence-based therapies.
Dr. Chow’s publications span over two decades, emphasizing cardiovascular biomarkers, heart failure management, and integrative therapies. Notable contributions include developing predictive cardiovascular disease models for the American Heart Association and guiding guidelines on opioid-related cardiovascular risks. Her work bridges clinical practice, education, and translational research in cardiology and pharmacy.
