He holds leadership roles in multiple Yale programs, including the Takyar Lab, Winchester Center for Lung Disease, and Yale Cancer Center.
Education & Training:
- MD: Iran University of Medical Sciences (1995)
- PhD: University of Queensland, Australia (2002)

Research Interests: Focuses on non-coding RNAs' roles in lung diseases, particularly miR-1 in endothelial regulation of inflammation, cancer, and injury. Key projects include miR-1's role in asthma, lung cancer progression, and VEGF signaling pathways.
Awards: AAP Junior Investigator Award (2011), ALA Lung Cancer Discovery Award, NIH/NIAID grants, and multiple conference recognitions.
Lab Collaborations: Works with Yale's RNA Science and Medicine Center, Thoracic Oncology Program, and Yale Center for Asthma and Airway Disease. Current projects explore miR-1's protective role in ARDS and SARS-CoV2-induced lung injury.
Clinical Work: Specializes in COPD and pulmonary critical care, treating respiratory illnesses from simple coughs to severe ICU conditions.
