معرفی
Lokesh Kumar Sharma is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine at Yale School of Medicine. He holds a PhD from St. John's University (2015) and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Yale University (2019). His research focuses on understanding mechanisms of lung injury, cytokine regulation during respiratory infections (e.g., influenza, SARS-CoV-2), and translational therapies for acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).
- Education:
- PhD, St. John's University (2015)
- Postdoctoral Associate, Yale University (2019)
Research Interests: Dr. Sharma investigates inflammatory pathways in lung diseases, including viral/bacterial pneumonia, ARDS, and sepsis. Key areas include:
- Role of interferons and cytokines in antiviral defense
- VEGF-D's impact on vascular integrity
- Therapeutic strategies targeting JAK signaling and corticosteroids
- Single-cell RNA sequencing of lung cellular interactions
Recent Work: Recent studies highlight the anti-inflammatory roles of interferon signaling in nonviral lung injuries and the protective effects of VEGF-D in acute injury. Collaborations with Dr. Charles Dela Cruz and others drive translational research in critical care and immunology.
