معرفی
Sherilyn Fritz is a Professor in the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Her research integrates geological, ecological, and atmospheric sciences to reconstruct long-term environmental changes, primarily through diatom records in lake sediments.
- Research Focus: Quaternary environmental dynamics, tropical lake systems, and Amazonian biodiversity evolution
- Projects: Trans-Amazon Drilling Project (International Continental Drilling Program)
- Regions Studied: Western North America, tropical South America, Southeast Asia, Greenland, northwestern Europe
Research Trends: Recent publications highlight her work on Amazon climate history (2025), diatom community responses to climate gradients (2025), subsurface hydrocarbon records (2025), and Holocene silicon cycling in Yellowstone Lake (2023). Her studies address ecological resilience in tropical Andean lakes (2022) and the impact of hydrothermal activity on biogeochemical cycles (2022).
Collaborations: Leads an international team in the Trans-Amazon Drilling Project, fostering partnerships between Brazilian, US, and European scientists to unravel the Cenozoic evolution of Amazonian ecosystems.
