Sherif H. Kamel

Sherif H. Kamel serves as Professor and Dean of the Onsi Sawiris School of Business at The American University in Cairo (AUC), where he previously held the role of Vice President for Information Management. He is actively involved in numerous boards and councils:

• PhD in Information Systems from the London School of Economics
• MBA from The American University in Cairo
• MA in Islamic Art and Architecture from The American University in Cairo

Professor Kamel's research spans digital transformation, IT transfer to emerging economies, decision support systems, the digital economy, and entrepreneurship. His work, reflected in over 300 publications, addresses the challenges and opportunities of information technology in developing contexts, with a focus on innovation and economic development.

He is recognized as an Eisenhower Fellow.

Throughout his career, Kamel has held significant leadership roles in global academic organizations. He served as the immediate past chair of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and as vice chair of CEMS (Global Alliance in Management Education). He has also been a founding member of the Internet Society of Egypt and an active participant in the Association of Information Systems since 1995.
