Ahmed Kamel is a Professor of Computer Science and Management Information Systems (MIS) at Concordia College, where he also serves as Associate Dean of the Offutt School of Business. With decades of experience in academia, he previously taught at Eastern Connecticut State University and North Dakota State University (NDSU) before joining Concordia in 2005.

Kamel’s research focuses on artificial intelligence, knowledge-based systems, and the social implications of technology. He emphasizes interdisciplinary problem-solving, integrating linked agents and engineering design tools.
He advocates for teaching through mentorship, incorporating cutting-edge research into coursework to equip students for evolving tech and business landscapes. His pedagogy prioritizes balancing professional and personal growth.
At Concordia, Kamel contributed to the launch of the state-of-the-art Innovation Lab and leads initiatives in the Anderson Office of Career Success to bridge academia and industry.
Outside academia, he actively promotes interfaith dialogue as a member of Concordia’s President’s Interfaith Advisory Council and the FM Interfaith Center’s board of directors.
